Head of Investigations - Randburg

Reporting to Executive Director – Accountability Division

 

POSITION PURPOSE

 

The holder of this position will be responsible for andoversee all investigations to be conducted by the client (They do TaxInvestigations). This includes the effective management of the InvestigationsTeam in accordance with companies’ deliverables and methodology. The holderwill be responsible for the design, implementation, management and monitoringof the companies Whistle Blower Program as well as the management andcoordination of all investigations as per the mandate. The successful candidatewill review and interpret new and existing reports that manate from whistleblowers and other companies’ relevant stakeholders as well as investigate,organise, coordinate and report on various projects in accordance withcompanies’ policy and procedures.

 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

OUTPUT 1: INVESTIGATIONS

 

Strategise, plan, evaluate and conduct various, concurrent small- and large-scale investigations

Investigate and oversee the investigations of allegations of maladministration and corruption in local, provincial, and national government as well as all associated PFMA and MFMA related entities in accordance with project scopes.

Always liaise and engage with various internal and external role players and stakeholders whilst maintaining relevant levels of confidentiality (Protecting the identity of Whistle Blowers and the information they provide)

Analyse relevant data and review evidence gathered by team. Provide expert input into investigations.

Keep abreast of latest information and techniques specific to the investigative field

 

Qualificationsand Experience:

RelevantBachelor’s Degree with minimum 7 to 10 years’ experience within theinvestigations sector.

Investigativebackground and qualifications associated with government supply chain andprocurement management

CertifiedFraud Examiner or member of the South African Chapter of the ACFE

Proventrack record in Investigations Project Management.

Provenmanagement experience of teams

Knowledge:

Workingknowledge of legal terminology

Detailedknowledge regarding Public Finance and Supply Chain Management as well asCorporate Governance.

Detailedknowledge regarding Whistle Blowing, Whistle Blowing Management and relatedacts with special emphasis on company and its role as per the ProtectedDisclosures Act, policies, and best practices.

Proficientin various software packages eg. Microsoft Office, ProofHub etc.

Keeninterest in current affairs with special emphasis on procurement fraud andstate capture.

Generalworking knowledge regarding Public Administration
